- D.D.S. degree from an accredited university.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.
- Direct patient dental care experience preferred.
- Maintain required continued education for Dental License.
- Anesthetic endorsement.
- Current CPR/BLS.
- Current Washington Dental License.
- Provides comprehensive public health oriented dental services (consistent with the Department scope of work) to eligible persons to include: diagnostic, consultation/referral, emergency, preventive, restorative (operative), periodontics, and oral surgery services.
- Ensures compliance with IHS; provide supervision to Dental Staff when needed.
- Provides in-service training to staff as needed.
- Participates in specialty clinics with other members of the health team (e.g., health fairs, preventive presentations); and works collaboratively with other members in planning to meet the health needs and compliance of patients.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, assist and work with supervisor in maintaining communication relative to overall operation of the clinic.
- Participates in inter-departmental activities as necessary to maintain/promote high clinic morale, and thus ensures an effective organization.
- Assists supervisor in areas of patient communications and reception area support as appropriate (e.g., proper appointment timing, chart maintenance, protocols).
- Assures that the clinic practices safe prevention and treatment methods, and scrupulously complies with recommended and mandated health-provider regulations/guidelines.
- Contributes to the overall improvement of dental services and assures the highest quality standards for patient services.
- Participates in appropriate continuing education opportunities, shares information/findings, and institute methods, practices and protocols, as appropriate.
- Represents the highest standards of the dental profession and manifests appropriate caregiver demeanor.
- Strives to promote KVH’s image and standing in the larger community.
- Acts as a role model for, and provides information and encouragement to, those members of the KVH patient community who may aspire to work in healthcare careers.
- Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment and following safety protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
