Summary: To provide clinical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to Oncology and Hematology patients, working in collaboration with Medical Oncologist, Naturopathic Oncologist, Acupuncturist, and clinic staff in an integrative setting. To serve as the supportive care practitioner for patients by completing treatment education visits, survivorship care and collaborative advanced-care planning visits with Oncology Social Work team. To serve as a resource and role model to staff by modeling compassion, motivation and kindness to patients, colleagues, and the community.

- Graduation from an accredited university with a Nurse Practitioner degree in Nursing.
- At least one (1) year experience in outpatient Oncology required.
- One (1) year experience in Hematology strongly preferred.
- Unrestricted and active licensure in the state of Washington and unrestricted participation with Medicare and Medicaid required.
- Five (5) years’ experience in Oncology/Hematology strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience in healthcare setting highly desirable.
- Oncology Certification strongly preferred and required once eligible upon hire and completion of required hours and education.
- Perform evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring of patients with oncology and hematology diagnoses.
- To oversee clinical triage intake, documentation, and patient follow-up for acute and non-urgent clinical needs.
- To complete patient care plans within EHR for patients to review, utilizing appropriate language for patient health-literacy and comprehension of medical information.
- To review and approve patient orders for internal treatments to include review of pre-treatment labs and applicable medical studies.
- To respond to in-office infusion reactions and/or other adverse events for acute assessment and intervention as needed.
- Work with medical office staff to place orders for patients to have clinical assessments to include both in-house and outside assessments, treatments, specialty consultations, infusions, transfusions, radiology, procedures, and supportive care services.
- To share in responsibility for after-hours calls and hospital rounding to local facilities with whom the company is contracted.
- To document patient diagnoses to include specified diagnostic codes, clinical staging, treatment setting, pathological confirmation, diagnostic grading, comorbidities, and treatment intent.
- To work collaboratively with Oncology Social Work team to screen patients for mental health disorders and risk factors, working to refer patients to internal social workers for intervention and treatment planning as needed.
- To spearhead internal committees for clinical education working with community organizations, pharmaceutical representatives, nursing staff, and other providers.
- To work with Human Resources Manager and other departmental leadership on initiatives including OSHA, Safety Committees, and process implementation of new programs.
- Support integrative approaches to cancer treatment such as naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, traditional Native American healing practices, nutrition, and other therapies.
