Job Title: Senior Associate Attorney
Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in PST, ideally California or Washington, but licensed to work in CA)
Pay Range: $140K - $180K
- $140K - $150K: Typically for candidates with 8 years of experience.
- $160K - $180K: Reserved for candidates with 10+ years of experience.
Position Summary:
As a Senior Associate Attorney, you will represent attorneys facing disciplinary actions and navigate ethical challenges before state bar associations. Your role will involve legal advocacy, defense strategies, and ensuring that attorneys receive fair treatment in disciplinary proceedings. With extensive experience in litigation and legal ethics, you will lead the defense of established attorneys while working in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
Client Representation:
- Provide counsel to attorneys facing disciplinary actions, offering clear guidance on ethical obligations and professional responsibility.
- Attend disciplinary hearings and present well-structured legal arguments to safeguard attorneys’ reputations.
- Maintain continuous client communication throughout the proceedings, offering updates and addressing concerns.
Case Investigation and Strategy Development:
- Investigate complaints, interview witnesses, and review case documents to craft effective defense strategies.
- Prepare and present strong legal arguments in briefs, motions, and responses, ensuring compliance with state bar regulations.
- Engage in negotiations to achieve favorable resolutions where applicable.
Professional Development & Collaboration:
- Stay updated on legal ethics and changes to state bar regulations to provide accurate, timely advice.
- Assist in creating training materials and support initiatives to foster firm growth and client acquisition.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation, legal ethics, or disciplinary defense.
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the CA state bar.
- Skills: Excellent communication, research, and negotiation skills, strong legal acumen, and the ability to work independently.
