Job Description: Our client is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer. This role demands proficiency in implementing automation solutions with PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms.

Pay Range: $131,000 - $140,000

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement innovative automation solutions and design standards.
- Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
- Develop control system architecture, select components, detail schematic diagrams, program controllers, process visualization, and implement/commission control systems.
- Design, detail, and implement industrial networking systems using protocols like Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.
- Manage projects including execution plans, budgets, scheduling, task prioritization, financial tracking, and reporting.
- Oversee daily project operations, ensuring overall project profitability.
- Act as technical lead and mentor for lower-level engineers and technicians, possibly taking on the role of Project Manager for smaller projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Over 10 years of experience in automation, with significant capabilities in:
- PLC platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon.
- HMI/SCADA platforms such as GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Inductive Automation’s Ignition, Siemens.
- DCS platforms such as Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell PlantPAx, or similar.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC, control panels, and NEC references.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Managing automation design and implementation projects in the Life Science industry.
- All phases of automation projects including conceptual design, implementation, testing, start-up, and commissioning of PCS, SCADA, and DCS.
- Strong knowledge of S88 Batch, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, System and Software Development Life Cycles, and validation.
- IT/OT networking, automation protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Ethernet I/P, OPC, Modbus TCP/IP), and relational databases (SQL, Oracle).
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Professional references, including one from a subordinate, a peer, and a manager.
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 10+ years of process automation experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in the Life Sciences industry.
- Proficiency with Ignition, Rockwell, and relevant regulatory requirements (cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Experience in all phases of automation projects.
- Knowledge of S88 Batch, GAMP5, System and Software Development Life Cycles, and validation.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL, Oracle) and automation protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Traditional I/O, Profibus, Ethernet I/P, OPC, Modbus TCP/IP).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC, control panels, and associated NEC references.
