Job Title: Associate Attorney

Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in PST, ideally California or Washington, but licensed to work in CA)
Pay Range: $113K - $140K

  • The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience, a strong job history, and demonstrable potential.

Position Summary:

As an Associate Attorney, you will assist in representing attorneys in disciplinary proceedings before state bar associations. Your role will involve preparing legal documentation, developing defense strategies, and offering vital legal guidance to clients. With a focus on litigation and ethical matters, you will play a key role in defending attorneys' professional rights and careers.

Responsibilities:

Client Representation:

  • Offer legal advice to attorneys on their ethical responsibilities and obligations during disciplinary actions.
  • Attend state bar hearings and support the defense team by crafting strong legal arguments and cross-examining witnesses.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients, ensuring they understand case developments and options.

Case Preparation & Legal Documentation:

  • Investigate the allegations against clients by reviewing evidence, conducting interviews, and analyzing key facts.
  • Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other essential documentation required for the defense of attorneys facing ethical misconduct charges.
  • Negotiate settlements when appropriate to protect clients’ professional standing while ensuring compliance with ethical standards.

Collaboration & Growth:

  • Collaborate with Senior Attorneys and other team members to develop comprehensive defense strategies.
  • Stay informed on changes in legal ethics and bar regulations to ensure up-to-date advice for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation, legal ethics, or disciplinary defense.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the CA state bar.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases efficiently.
